Well, I get what you are saying, but to say that only a company with a physical geographic center would make a certain kind of game is a little myopic.
Microsoft is currently working with Japanese developers. I think they would still make Japanese styled games. Sure it might be different and not as much. Disney buying playstation would be a little less open though.

The only reason is more or less because they don't sell on the Japanese market, so they try their best to make their console attractive by bying rights of games that would perhaps otherwise only have been released on Nintendo or Sony, or as multiplatform.
If they would sell millions of Xbox 360 and now Xbox One in Japan, with just FPS and western type of games, they wouldn't really bother to do what they do today. I am sure of that.
But sure, if they did buy the PS brand, which is popular in Japan, they might/should try to keep it a Japanese console. So I guess it wouldn't really matter whMere the company are from.
In the end the Xbox brand is something made for Americans. All that Netflix and everything is pretty much useless outside of the USA. And all good updates and things are released in the USA first, and some things never come to Europe or Asia, or at the very least much later.

I don't necissarily dissagree. I think they should bring more japanses games to other markets. (I remember on last year or the year before that I really wanted to play that wasn't brought to the west.)
Many people like FPS's on the Xbox, but they also have many more kinds of games. They are going to hit the FPS market hard with TitanFall and later Halo this year. But also Quantum Break and things like that.
Also, Netflix is growing, but you can't realy blame Microsoft to where it is availible. It is it's own company. And there are other alternatives in other makets they use, like the FoxCon one in Australia.
