Correlation =/= Causation
You're undermining your own point there with the games reference... If peope would buy XBone and many of it's current games, they don't need a promise of a future game that hasn't yet entered development in order for them to buy a console. Realistically, very few of those Amazon customers knew of this news yet. When MS starts development, and starts publicizing the next GOW heavily, that is when it could significantly affect sales. But as another poster mentioned, this type of move is one to keep still loyal fans happy, it isn't going to stop fans who already bought a PS4 from continuing to buy titles on that platform, nor will it do much for those former fans who already decided to buy a PS4 but haven't done so yet, nobody is going to say: Infamous and DriveClub look GREAT and PS4 is the superior experience for x-platforms, but nah, I'll just forgo that because in 2 years a new GOW will come out exclusively on XBone because MS paid for it.
