OK, for anybody that is reading this thread but didn't read or can't comprehend the original article:
MS is not paying Epic to develop GOW exclusively for XBone, like they did with EA and Titanfall.
They are actually buying the IP from them, so MS will themselves develop future GOW games (via Black Tusk Studio for next game).
Epic will no longer be involved in developing GOW.
Although I'm not especially impressed with buying old gaming IP like this (it's really a step below licencing film/TV IP that hasn't yet been used in games),
I would at least rate it above the "purchased exclusivity" approach that MS used with Titanfall, this means MS will actually be funding exclusive games development,
rather than just paying to prevent an already existing game from also being offered for other platforms.
