Owning a studio makes a new game for a userbase, buying a game stops a userbase from getting a game.

Epic more than likely wouldn't have made another Gears if Microsoft didn't buy it from them. Epic wanted to make a new IP so badly for the PC so I can't blame them for getting it off their hands.
