| padib said: I am mostly on your side about the rudeness and respect, but I have to make a precision. Moderations aren't based on an individual mod's belief. In general moderations are discussed in mod concensus and are based on user track records as well as other mechanisms in place to ensure bans aren't based on one mod's gut feeling or belief. Just wanted to point that out. Having said that, I do think that some moderations might be borderline, and the system isn't perfect. I think saying someone's idea is ignorant is borderline, saying they are acting ignorant is unacceptable, but saying they are playing ignorant should be ok. (Semantically that means that they are feigning to be oblivious to the logic, which isn't an insult) |
I dont agree with this really. I think rudeness should be unmod worthy. People are rude in everyday life. Get over it (see thats a rude comment. It should not be mod worthy. Just like saying #dealwithit is rude but not mod worthy). Your last paragraph I disagree with a whole lot. You shouldnt be excused from moderation because you worded or insult in a particular way. Thats what started my convo with Kantor.
