Those boosts would have continued periodically as they do throughout the lifespan of any console, but DKC was on a whole other level in terms of its impact. How can it be independent if the game was released during the holidays? That makes no sense. You cant know for sure unless you could access another timeline where DKC wasnt released during holidays. So its still speculation
