Its made by Nintendo, and its gonna get a lot of Hype as well, its too hard to find a first party title made by Nintendo that hasnt sell that well. Check Wii sports, A LOT of people bought Wii for it.
With my third point I was trying to make you see, that if this wont sell well, why would people have to stand in lines?
You say a fad lasts 6 months? Then I could call most PS3 titles fads. They never sell for more than 4 months. The only ones I can recall are Motorstorm, Resistance and Uncharted.
Your definition of fad doesnt make sense.
