If we were getting specs now, it'd be more like 2015/2016 when it releases.

The first legit PS4 leak seems to be from 2012.

And no, they aren't going to be releasing an new console anytime earlier than late 2016, if not 2017.

The DS came out four years after the GBA and GameCube. 2015 is more than possible if this device was considered a third pillar instead of the replacement. Plus 3DS is getting old. By the end of next year it'll almost be five. A replacement coming out Holiday 2015 could be considered soon, but certainly not crazy.

GBA = summer 2001

GameCube = fall 2001

DS = fall 2004
