Hmm, not sure about the Skylander bundle. But anytime the bundle with mario went on sale for 270-280 out the door (equivalent to 250), they would sell out right away (ebay, best buy, etc.) on the deal sites. 4K units at a time sometimes. Sure, not PS4 numbers, but people seem to want the Wii U for 250.
I think Nintendo needs to work with retailers to offer rebates and kickbacks. Everyone likes a sale, and at 250 they seem to be buying the Wii U. I think 199 is too low and too soon.
