I actually have a fairly out-of-the-box idea for Nintendo in this topic.... buy gamestick. for those of you not aware: http://www.gamestop.com/android/consoles/gamestick-stick-and-controller/109154#productDetails
Where am I going with this? Nintendo has always had (over time) a strong handle on the handheld market, but there home console success fluctuates from generation to generation. What if they were able to take all their resources, and dump them into 1 handheld machine? the catch? they use the gamestick technology to stream the game from the handheld system to the hdmi stick that plugs into the tv. Bam! they've successfully started to compete on both fronts with one system.
Now, the main problem here of course is hardware specs. Just how much power can they cram into a handheld? If they can find a positive answer to that question they could find themselves in a very promising spot... or they could actually doom themselves once and for all. what do YOU guys think?
p.s. i'm not going to lie, I haven't put any research into the validity of this idea. I was just looking at a gamestick one day and the idea occurred to me "if 1 of the big 3 made a handheld that could stream to the tv I would finally feel compelled to by my 1st ever handheld" then thought "if Nintendo did it would they even make a home console?"
