Besides the simple games with inventive gameplay to get you stuck with them like PacMan Tetris and Space invaders did.. (Cut the Rope, Angry Birds Ridicilous fishing)
It also gives a new life to forgotten genres like point and click adventures (Telltales the Walking Dead wouldn't be as big without the iPad), strategy games (Touchscreen is great for these games, Plaque Inc) Movie Games (Where are they on consoles?) Card games, Pinball Games etc..
The main reason for me is because it reminds me why I play games.. to have fun and enjoy the experience..
I actually think that there is a group of gamers and developers out there who lost what gaming is about and only care about the same sequels with prettier graphics.. thats not core or hardcore but close minded and sad cause they are missing out on fun experiences..
