Rumor: Nintendo has Begun Development on a Next-Generation Machine

Wouldn't surprise me. They started working on the 3DS and Wii U about 3-4 years before they launched, and the 3D launched in 2011, about 3 years ago. This would indicate that the successor would be out in 2016/2017, which sounds about right.
