I think the " Home consoles market is dead in Japan " is a legend . We have no way to know that, it only depends of games, yes PS3 had less japan games than PS2 because of the difficulty to develop on next gen, but such things can change and Japan developers showed the will to change that recently( even Japan Studio is waking up), and since PS4 will be the leader of the generation, they'll have much more exclusives

Combined 7th gen home consoles sold almost 1m in 2013 so its very possble they leg it out to 25m in the next 2 years. That would put 7th gen down 10% from 6th gen. Thats far from dead

Thank you, this clearly shows there is no "massive contraction",  but obviously  Japanese dev were not prepared to make games for next gen  + PS3 was really hard to develop for, that didnt help , so PS4 should get more games since it's more easier.
