Are 1080p Moniters, TVs, Phones etc. extinct already.

How I see it, since a lot of companies are releasing 4K products around the same time period, their going to want to price their product competitively to catch the consumer attention.

You can't just price model to catch consumer attention.

If all TV companies tried to undercut each other, you would have companies that are doing awful (See Sony) going out of business. Competiting on price alone will be the downfall of most organizations. You need to compete on value. 

It is still early in the product life cycle, the cost of production is high, so the product will be high.
