Taking cheap shots at another user, let alone the intelligence of an entire country's citizens is pretty ineffective when you fail to demonstrate intelligence yourself.

Actually, it wasn't a cheap shot at anybody, nor a comment on intelligence of anybody, let alone an entire country. It was meant humorously, and if it was a shot at anything, it was a shot at the education system of a country, which often produces people who can't correctly identify which country on a world map is Australia, for instance. I don't think Americans are stupid, but I do think that uneducated people are more common in America.

Note the difference between unintelligent and uneducated.

If you think people like that are commonplace, then your opinion on the matter can't really be taken seriously. As for the underlined, more common than where? Anyhow, if this is your idea of humor, don't quit your day job. The level of critical thinking amongst the target demographic of a joke like that is identical to that of the very type of people being stereotyped in the joke.

As for unintelligent vs uneducated, either one could apply in the context in which I applied it.
