The Hobbit: Desolution of Smaug 3D 96 refresh rate, quickie review: (LOL)
It was better then the first one, but had a more worse ending then the first one. The movie was a great use of 3D.there where times where I didn't notice it was High-Frame-Rate during a bunch of non-action scenes, which was good, because it made it not look cheesy.
Like a lot of people have said about wanting to see the Lone Ranger for just the last 30 minutes, you will want to see The Hobbit 3 (There and Back Again) only.
If you haven't seen the first 2 Hobbit movies, you should only spend money on the 3rd Movie, and watch the first 2 in 3D for free via a Netflix or Hulu Plus or other paid subscription. Because you are already paying streaming or DVD rental services for something else anyways, LOL but true.
