The Wii U is the most versatile console. Want traditional gameplay? Most games hardly require the Gamepad; it's essentially a classic controller with a screen in the middle. If you still want to whine about that, get a Pro Controller or Classic Controller Pro (w/ Wiimote). Motion controls? Compatible with Wiimotes. Compatible with pretty much all Wii accessories, like the Balance Board. Feel like lying on the couch without twisting your neck? Off-TV play.
