Install base means something, so does the number of competitors. Both factors are relevant...unlike attach rate, which is the real worthless analysis. Want to see how worthless it is? COD Ghosts has an attach rate of 7,7% on PS3 and 8,9% on X360 while having 40,5% on PS4 and 43,2% on XOne. How does the SAME GAME manage to have around 5 times more attach rate on PS4 and XOne than in their predecessors?? I will give you a clue: competition. Now look at Assassin's Creed IV: 2,5% on PS3 - 2,3% on X360 - 30,5% on PS4 - 18,4% on XOne. Again, same game, very different values between tie ratios of 7th gen and 8th gen consoles. Lets go to the Sports genre, look at FIFA14: 5,6% on PS3 - 4,2% on X360 - 31,2% on PS4 - 23,5% on XOne. Your logic seems to be full of holes. To be honest, I think there's no ground at all. It's just worthless. Even a poor game like Knack (12,4%) is able to get more attach rate than any platformer on PS3 (the best being LittleBigPlanet with 6,5%) or even than any 3D Mario on Wii (<11%). If there is someone doing damage control it is surely not me |
the reason is simple. i bought an xbox one when it came out...i wanted games to play because of the money i paid for the system so i bought games i wouldnt have purchased normally.
Mario 3d world doesn't fit that category for me because i purchased my wii u a year ago (when i bought the wii u i did the same thing by the way). For someone who just bought a wii u though i would imagine they would buy mario 3d world for at least partly the same reason...or they would get a wii u for the game to begin with :)
