Fact is working cloud solution front m cold storage to active computing are very real and working infrastructure that don't need any defending.... The real question is how and when will they efficiently implement and exploit it in gaming on Xbox... Last time I check most games don't even attract more than 10% of the user base... I can guaranty you that more than 10% of the Xbox user base has more a 100mbps under 20ms latency connections TODAY and those will have gbps connections and latency under 10 before the end of the Gen... Heck I know I'll have mine within the next 18 months.. Those are the facts, ignore them if you want, they are still facts... Making a cloud required game will be just as viable than an online only game like titanfall before the end of the Gen... |
To be fair, this is nothing new. Diablo 3, which many played as single player needed an active connection with streaming of some of the assets from the Blizzard servers. My current gripe is that for all the marketing talk, none of the X1 games have made any further use out of the cloud computing than PC games and MMOs were a few years ago.
