But like you say, neither game is a flop. They just aren't selling as much as armchair experts anticipated. We don't actually know what Sony/Nintendo's projections for the games were. I'm still baffled by a game hitting over 20% of a consoles install base being called a flop in any shape or form though, especially also crashing through a million in a few weeks. Some people need a bit of a reality check as to what reasonable expectations for sales are.

You can compare 3DS vs Vita because they are in the same generation of handhelds. They came out relatively around the same time. The 8th generation Wii U came out 6 years after the 7th gen PS3. 80million vs 5million install base is a humongous difference when they are only .25m apart.

I didn't say you couldn't compare them, that comment was more due to a post in a different thread where parity in Vita and 3DS software sales seemed to be expected despite a 7m vs 40m userbase.
