Guys, guys

In order to start a proper discussion about this, we must understand what defines a console as "successful"

There´s just too much subjective concepts about what is a "successful" product here. We need something objective. A product doesn´t need to be the best seller of the industry to be successful, it just need to meet their customers expectations (not all customers expectations) and give the company the profits it needs (not the profits it wants, know the difference)

That said, we still don´t know what Nintendo is working on for its next console. Or how financially their consoles are currently going. Are they still losing money on WiiU, or not? we can´t say for sure. Will it be successful at the end of its commercial run? We still can´t say for sure.

Nintendo can't be successful. Even when they are.

The Wii was apparently a failure to many, despite the phenomenon it was.

The only way for Nintendo to actually 'succeed' is to be doomed, go third party, and rake in mega cash for the first few years by spamming their franchises onto every possible platform. Then when they eventually go under from following the advice of 'expert video game analysts' of the past 20 years, we can all look back at how successful their last few years were.
