Sony's footholds worldwide is much larger. Microsoft is focusing on America and certain parts of Europe right now. Remember that Sony hasn't even launched in Japan, so once Microsoft expands their markets all Sony has to do is launch in Japan. Microsoft mainly needs western sales right now American sales (North, South and Central) and European for now to keep close to Sony and then they will expand once the frontloaded demand settles. Because of this they have a backup of Xbox Ones in America. You can pick up Xbones at any Gamestop as we speak. You most likely wont be able to find a PS4 until February in the states with the ease of the Xbone.
