Makes perfect sense to me. The 3DS is selling a lot better than the PS4 yet it isn't sold out - Why is that? Because PS4 has less shipments/less consoles out there than the 3DS. Hence, PS4 has low shipments.

 

And furthermore, people are fools, complete fools, if they really think that handhelds and home consoles don't compete - They only don't compete in your naive little minds. They most certainly do compete on the market. They absolutely compete regardless of which platform does consistently better. Because at the end of the day, it's about games vs games, and it's about which system that plays games that people want to spend their green on. That's the main competition that counts.
