Wait. 73 days (I think thats the number since Dec 29), divided by 30 (average number of days in a month) = 2.43.

Thats closer to 2.5 than the PS3 is to 1M a month.

63 days (9 weeks) / 30 days a month = 2 months and 3 days. Pretty close to 2 months IMO ;)

Anyway, 1,756,200 consoles in 9 week is about 836k / month. Still not 1M/month but closer.

At this rate, from now until the end of July they will sell 4,180k consoles and that will put PS3 very close to 15M.
