Puppyroach said: Well, actually, no: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/12/03/ps4-global-sales-update/ They announced when world-wide sales had reached 2,1 million, meaning they could announce them passing the 2 million-mark. The adding up of individual regions were made by the gaming sites themselves, not sony. |
They announced numbers for US launch and EU/WW launch... two times for these specific events... that's because they announced over 2.1 million and not only over 2 million.
From your link...
"In what is shaping up to be a historic year for gamers, I’m delighted to share an important new milestone with you. PS4’s North American debut on November 15th was PlayStation’s largest ever, with more than one million gamers picking up a PS4 in just 24 hours. Now, with PS4’s global launch expanding to a total of 32 countries worldwide, including Europe and Latin America, I’m proud to announce that more than 2.1 million PS4s have been sold."
It is not milestones reached... it is launch numbers.
If they sold 2.5 or 1.8 million at WW launch then they will post these numbers instead 2.1 million.
