More Money
Increase the fanbase

Isn't that why people make multiplatform games in general?

does it really make more money? since third party games have been failing on the Wiiu, can we really say they are profitable? even if they are slightly more profitable or break ever, wouldnt the resources be better fit to work on something else, that would be much much more profitable, so really putting games on the Wiiu doesnt make more money, but actually makes a lot less.

3rd parties don't have to use the WiiU Gamepad, and since WiiU is speced just above the PS3/360, it should be a fairly simple port. So as long as the game sells say 1,000 units (to cover the cost of printing new covers, and stuff) then yea, it makes more money.

Since porting to the WiiU costs almost nothing, you're not making a point. Plus if WiiU "lacks games" then hardcore WiiU owners might pick up Dark Souls 2. This increases the fanbase for the series and for the developers.

I said this in another thread, but I probably won't buy Dark Souls 2 for PS3/360, but if it released on WiiU, I might. The lack of Trophy's/Achievements would make the game more enjoyable, I really hate a half filled game on PS3/360, especially if it's a game I end up enjoying.
