You're under the false impression that people buy things because they are looking for quality. Not only that, but you are also under the false impression that the majority of people know exactly what they're getting into when they buy something. It also shows your lack of knowledge of how marketing works, and why people buy anything.
If you see a trend where people buy single ply toilet paper over two-ply, would you really be under the assumption that all single ply toilet paper is better quality than two-ply?
