Definitely disagree with the last one. Resistive + Stylus is necessary for precision in many games. No way would I want to play Kid Icarus: Uprising or Liberation Maiden with my finger.

On the 3''-display of the 2DS or 3DS you need a stylus to be precise. On the resistive 4.2''-display of the 3DS XL, a stylus is a bit more precise than using the fingers, because you have to put some pressure on the area you want to activate... but the stylus-advance gets smaller.

A 4.2''-display with capacitive touchscreen allows more precision than a resistive 4.2''-display, since you only have to tip the area, not to tip AND put pressure on that area. It works fine on every 4'' - 5'' smartphone.

Not a chance. Have you played Uprising? How about The World Ends With You? I'm writing this right now on a 5" touchscreen that I have played enough games on and I can't believe you would suggest that this thing in my hands would be better for those games than the 3DS's resistive screen with a stylus.

In fact, I can't believe you would suggest that capacitive would be better for ANY 3DS game. What about Art Academy? Drawing comments on Miiverse? The only advantage of capacitive screens is multitouch, and as you said yourself developers would be forced to accommodate owners of other 3DS models, they wouldn't be able to take advantage of this feature, anyway. The cons, in particular having half the screen covered by your thumb at all times, covering it with grease and fingerprints, and the greater cost of capacitive compared to resistive, far outweigh that advantage.
