You see, relevancy of a software is measured by how well it can sell hardware and 3D world was clearly a flop in doing that. 

Havent Wii U sales increased a fair bit since Marios release? sure they aint amazing by any stretch, but they are a damn sight better than they were. A brilliant game is always relevent, system seller or not, they set benchmarks in polish and gameplay mechanics. 

WII U sales have increased alright but not to healthy levels as thought before. What you call brilliant isn't what the markets wants. 


Though 3D World may not have caused a huge spike, it may still be able to keep that baseline up, which is more important thing in the long run.

Actually that baseline won't be kept for very long seeing as how 3D world is a record low of all the 3D marios.
