It will be as history calls it.
If the wii u fails miserably then game historians will look back at that VGX moment with humour and highlight it as one of the worst things Nintendo could have done even if it wasn't.
If things turn out relatively well for the wii u then it can be forgotten or even seen as a moment of genius but I think it being a genius moment is very unlikely.
