Also after this fiscal year, Iwata needs to remove himself from his short stint as head of NOA. He should not be managing the American side. Get someone who freaking understands the US market to do that.
Maybe that was the ploy all along? Iwata promotes himself as president of NOA, knowing there's a good chance that if numbers go sour for the holidays, he can then offer shareholders a "symbolic" resigination from NOA at the year end fiscal briefing ... but really he just goes back to the position he had before.
