Yeah that one would've been awesome. My GameBoy, GameBoy Color and GameBoy Advance are all clear.

I'm fairly sure that the upper screen inside needs to be black.Like the area around the speakers, if it's any other colour or distraction that your eyes will focus on it would take away from the 3d effect if you were using it. Even on the blue/red/purple 3ds's that area is always Black.

This was only the case for the 3DS. The 3DS XL screen is large enough for this not to matter, the white-base 3DS XL models all have white inner top areas.
