I think you guys mean the 1998 "Godzilla" American film. As a MOVIE, on it's own, it was an okay summer blockbuster. But as a GODZILLA movie, it was an abomination, specifically because Sony did not give a single shit about the property. Toho sent them specific documents telling them how Godzilla should look and act. They purposefully "lost" (see: ignored) that, and made a movie about a giant fucking iguana, that is literally nothing more than just a giant iguana, who gets killed by missiles at the end of the picture, a picture that so obviously didn't care about the source material it's not funny.

Godzilla 2000, on the other hand, was Toho's response to that crapfest, and it actually got distrubuted in American theaters (the only real Godzilla film I've ever been able to see in theaters). It was the start of their "Millenium" series, and while it wasn't amazing, it was rather good, especially compared to the American film.

I got a chance to see "Godzilla Final Warz" in a cinema with a group of Godzilla fanatics - it was great.  The crowded cheered and laughed and make the experience so excieting - like when I remember seeing Star Wars when it first came out as a kid.

This new one looks like it could be really good!  I liked most of Mosters (he also dirceted that)

So Smaug this week, playing next gen, then Godzilla in May.  It's a good time to be alive!

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.
