UK Sales: Mario still being outsold by Knack, GT6 launch sales just a fifth of GT5

GT 6 falling hard, I'm one of the biggest GT fans on the planet and have been playing them for hundreds of hours since the first one came out but I can plainly see that the series needs to take some fairly big measures to stay relevant. As much as Yamauchi loves cars and racing, he still lacks aim and his vision is too expansive as it stands. The sad microtransaction fest taking over is also a clear sign that Polyphony are letting the market at large to a lot of the thinking for them in a field where they were pioneers and world leaders a decade ago (console racing sim, that is).

In short; PD needs to get their shit together.

As for Mario being outsold by Knack; well, the PS4 already has about twice the installed base of the Wii U and isn't exactly rife with appealing software so a lot of mediocre titles will be tossed into the cart by default. This doesn't really mean much in the big picture.
