I read somewhere on neogaf (with a link) that GT5 beat GT4's launch by 14% or something...so it had the best launch ever for the series but it won't cover up the deficit.

This is disappointing but dare i say not earth-shatteringly surprising.
The PS4/XBONE hype and marketing frenzy meant GT6 was hardly even marketed, I haven't seen a single advert for it anywhere!!
Also the PS4/XBONE sales just go to prove that people were so tired off this gen...I mean in my opinion neither console had a library strong enough to justify the record-breaking esque launch sales they got....it was really a market bored to death with this current gen that has gone on for 8 years!
GT6 got lost in the fiddle here. I hope it'll continue to have legs though (it probably will). I don't know if SONY should do a GT6 PS4 version or skip straight ahead to GT7 though
