Right. There is a world of difference between mature and "mature." Now, some great developers are making properly mature gameplay, but most of them are just trying for "mature".

Exactly; don't get me wrong, there are games that succeed in being truly adult, but they very rare. By and large games with an M-rating have all the "maturity" of your average thirteen year old boy.
