What's SCEA supposed to?

The Sony audience doesn't give a sh*t about handhelds. They are teenage/college age males who game at home on the big screen and want a PS4 or XBox, not a Sony Game Boy.

PSP falling off the map in North America for years prior was already a tip off. Everyone has smartphones here now too so if you ever get an urge to game for 10 minutes on the road, smart phone scratch that itch. The big gun games are for consoles.

Besides I think there still is a huge stigma about playing handhelds in public. No one says anything about smartphone games because smartphones are more of a social media device. No one wants to be the weird guy on the bus "playing video games in the corner". Is it a double standard with smartphones? Sure. But it still definitely is there.

Tell that to PSP, which sold around 80m...

Before the smartphone revolution really kicked in.

All teenagers/adults have a smartphone, that's killing the Vita. Nintendo just has their go to market with kids who are still a few years off from having their first phone.
