It's hard to belive that so many people are up in arms about ms's statement.
Heck, even majornelson's website was updated to acknowledge that xbox one's are still in stock at some retailers, provide advice on how to find one, and states that retailers are replenished with xbox one stock on a weekly basis.

Yeah. I agree. MS were very careful about how they worded the statement and I think a number of guys here have misconstrued what they said.

I think what some people are trying to explain is "why say 'sold out at retailers around the world' instead of giving numbers".
And other people are trying to say, "numbers don't matter, because in the long term, sold out is healthy".

Well what do you really expect them to do. They clearly have sold less but them admitting it is the height of stupidity. So they came up with ways to announce how well they are doing while sidestepping the whole we-dont-have-the-sales-the-ps4-has question. Some people will not be fooled but others will be satisfied. I am sure other companies do this too.
