For example, Grid 2 is still $60, while I can get it on Amazon or Gamestop for $40.

or on ps+ for free.

yes, sony is gettting better.

Contrary to popular belief, games we acquire via PS+ are not in fact free, because PS+ itself is not free.

So based on your logic of literal dollars spent.  Let's say Grid 2 was 60$ on PSN, and you were interested in buying it but haven't got around to it due to PS4 and whatnot.  If it then is free for + users, Sony is literally paying you 10$ to use their service for a year if you never touched any other benefit, so it is actually better than free.

You guys are all missing the point. My post didn't have anything to do with the fact that Grid 2 is now on PS+. This thread isn't really about the vallue of PS+, it's about Sony's digital pricing. Perhaps my point would be better made with the game Sly Cooper: Theives in Time, for the PS3. This game is currently on the PSN for $40. However, Amazon, Gamestop, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart all have the game listed at $20 (and this game you can't defend by saying it's on PS+, because it's not). I've noticed this pattern for many games on the PSN store. From this I conclude that prices on the PSN do not keep up with retail prices.
This is the point I was trying to make.
