I camped outside of Best Buy for over 9 hours for the Wii launch. I had also been planning to camp for a ps3, but the Ebayers beat me to the line. Luckily, people weren't as worried about not being able to find a Wii, so I didn't have to camp 2+ days in advance. I personally don't think people would have camped at all had they not been scared into it by the ps3 insanity.
It's really crazy how people viewed the Wii prior to launch, and how quickly that changed after launch. Once those things got into people's homes, hype shot through the roof.
