2nd place is "coveted" now? How many years have you said that Sony and Microsoft weren't competing with Nintendo, since Ninty is going after a different demographic, so it was more of a "complimentary" console for people's gaming experiences? And so, the "real battle" was between Microsoft and Sony? In that case, wouldn't 2nd place be last place? (referring to you beloved phrase "last place bitch")
Guess you'll use Nintendo however you can so that your allegiance isn't with the console that has done the least (Wii sold 100M and 360 isn't going to catch it? Well, at least the 360 has sold more than PS3 (that's how it was for many years), and real gamers are choosing between those two; XB1 outsold by PS4? Well, at least the XB1 has sold more than the Wii U, so my console of choice isn't in last place)
OT:
Reggie is delusional. #1 because the XBone and PS4 respectively outsold what the Wii U did in a year...in 48 hours in several regions. And #2 because he thinks the Wii's software and not the gimmick of waggle got the Wii to 100M. Change the controller interface to a standard controller, and the Wii does GCN numbers. The same gimmick isn't available with the Wii U and they don't have the software to say "software drives hardware". And anyone disputing my statement about the Wii and its software: it's went on a sharp downward spiral in sales beginning in 2009/2010, yet some of its best games have come out since that time period. Why? Because consumers got over waggle and were left with a lackluster library with a few gems popping up every now and then. Akin to the GCN. Did Ninty make a crap ton of money? Yes. But the wool was pulled from people's eyes when word of mouth got around that you'll be super excited for motion controls then get bored with it and let the Wii "gather dust on the shelf" afterwards. So it stopped selling in droves
