Asians can have white skin color, though. Also, I think that the localization process is what made it seem like the Kurain village is white people with Japanese influence, but it is much more that in the original that it's a traditional village within Japan. Maybe the same way with the example you used. Of course, because of the way they look, you can start questioning on what even "white" means, because there isn't really such thing as distinct different "races" for humans anyway. At least not biologically.
