I'm a Nintendo fan and I just accepted that Wii U is N64 2.

It's gonna need Mario Kart 8 to boost sales just to GCN levels at this rate. There's a portion of the Nintendo fanbase that's in deep, deep denial about what's actually happening. 

Well I'm betting on MK8-SSBU for March-June and Zelda for holiday. In between, X, Bayonneta 2, DK and Yoshi.

I think Nintendo may have to start thinking seriously about a $199.99 Wii U SKU minus the tablet controller to coincide with Mario Kart 8's launch. I think that's really their last best chance of at least salvaging something out of this mess. Zelda or even Smash do not have the wide appeal that Mario Kart does. 

To be honest though it looks pretty much locked in to be another GameCube -- even with the GameCube it got a pretty big surge when it dropped to $99.99, but in the long term people still weren't willing to buy one en masse even at that price and with some great games.
