What may help the Wii U is when the current gen finally dies. Wii, PS3 and 360 are still selling and are now seen as the "budget" consoles. Along with previous gen handhelds still on the market it does feel somewhat saturated out there.

And when do you expect that to happen? The PS2 was produced and sold until the PS4 announcement.

Yup, it will. But Nintendo can finally say that their machine, in that line of price, is more powerful, has great games coming, great couch features and is backwards compatible. Wii had a great selection too and the most surprising game of the generation in Mario Galaxy IMO.
