I agree completely. There is nothing more satisfying than beating a hard level in a platformer, the achievement feels awesome and this takes a dump on the entire thing.
Now, I can understand why they put this, for the little kids playing this game. This buff certainly is not meant for the veteran mario players. Still, it doesn't really help the kid in the long run.
