It sounds cool, so long as there's stuff that makes the overworld fun to travel and not lifeless.

Lots of small dungeons or passages for bonus items or collectibles would be fine, as well as lots of side quest. So long as the main gameplay doesn't get compromised as a result, ofcourse!
