Good question, to which i have spent few thoughts myself.
Looking at how long it took before the GBA-GC connectivity had any use and Wii has had Pokemon Battle Revolution for a year now. The DSDS ability should be coming in some point and i believe we will see games using the connectivity like Four Swords did. Or it could also be a great feature for co-op games. Actually, that would be fantastic idea, if game would be like Starfox Command, with the difference, that the strategic and action parts would be played simultanously, guy with the DS makes strategic decisions, and th guy with Wii, would handle all the action.
Anyway, the DSDS ability is my first wish for the connectivity at the moment.
