There's a bunch of people who want to discredit them because they think they are biased. From a quick google search I found an article saying Microsoft payed them 750k to make a documentary or something like that which is indeed suspicious. But now certain people will point out every little odd detail that makes them seem biased, while completely ignoring all the things they do that a "paid off site" would never do. Just to completely show how ridiculous the game review bias is. Out of the 5 xbox one exclusive games they reviewed, they had 2 scores above the average metacritic, one exactly at the average, and 4 below average scores. Of the three playstation 3 exclusive games they reviewed, they had 2 score above the average metacritic, and 1 below the average.
People actually want them to be biased, so they can try to prove a point. This video is a perfect example of this. In a 12 hour video, someone decided to find every single negative experience they had with the console and try to make it seem like these people had to be payed off to give the console and games such "high scores."
Some people will try to discredit anything that points toward their console of choice as not the best choice. Not to say that only sony fans do this. Similar things happened when certain xbox fans were trying to claim the ps4 wasn't significantly more powerful than the xboxone. And nintendo fans who believe that third parties are to blame for the wii u's poor performance. Hell I've probably done similar things myself. Everyone has a little bias in them. But some people think anyone who doesn't have the same opinion as them must be biased, completely payed off, etc. Me personally, right now I am biased towards PC gaming. Thats why when I tell you that I think both the xbox one and ps4 are a complete waste of money you might want to take it with a grain of salt. =P
