Aonuma said he will talk more about it at E3, not that it won't be showed before. They showed ALBW but didn't talked about it until later, around E3.

More importantly, the "I'll have more to say at E3" line comes from an interview published October 14 (as far as I can tell). But in this video uploaded 4 days later, he says he intended to show the game at Comic Con, but didn't have enough time to prepare. "Once I'm back in my office, I'll get to work so that I'll have something to announce."

This is the most recent word on the matter. The E3 line is old news.
