Even if its just new footage of Mario Kart, Bayo 2, X, and/or Smash ... that's fine. I could see something like a new Bayonetta 2 + announcement of Bayonetta 1 coming to the eShop or something. 

Good to see that Nintendo is engaging in these types of events rather than letting them be Sony/MS infomercials. Showing Zelda at the event would be smart though *if* it is a realistic style Zelda. That will generate a lot of cheers from that type of audience.

I thought he said all the right things although some of it was quite obvious. "Games sells systems" is something you don't need a degree in rocket science to figure out.

As for Zelda there are the purist that rather it maintains the similar art styles of the past. As for me I am hoping for Skyrim stlye environments mixed with the Nitendo touch. This is unlikely but we all can live in hope.
